The nitroImprint turns your image into a beautiful b/w cross-hatched pen & ink rendering. The surface of your image is transformed to organic pen strokes that allow the image to take on an Old World charm for a fresh new look.

The nitroImprint is our boldest b/w pattern available, based on the old metal engraving techniques. It yields a striking, powerful impact while preserving the texture of the original image. Ideal subjects would be people, dramatic panoramas, buildings, and old photographs.

As is the case with all of our patterned techniques, the nitroImprint guarantees that you wil never have to worry about registration issues. The converted image is a bitmap file, and will be treated by the printer as line art. Each dot of the image is represented by either 100% Black or 0% Black, so there is absolutely no tone.

What we need from you

We prefer to start with your original color retouched digital file that has been approved. If the file is already b/w, it will work just fine.

We require a minimal file size of 300 ppi @ 100% the file size. Of course, higher resolution is even better.

What you get from us

The nitroImprint conversion is delivered as a bitmap EPS with a minimum of 900 ppi resolution.

Typically, each file is adjusted for newsprint reproduction with maximum level of the black channel at 91%.

If you want your nitroImprint for magazine, packaging or another substrate reproduction, we will provide the file with profiles adjusted accordingly.

Due to the final file being in bitmap mode, it is supplied in line screens within the range of 35 lpi up to 120 lpi.

The nitroImprint has a useable size range down to 85% and up to 115% of the file size.
